Bulk carriers amount to about one third of the world’s merchant fleet. These vessels are designed to carry dry, unpackaged cargos in large quantities, like coal, ore, cement, grains, dredgers or steel pipes – cargos whose containerized transportation would be highly uneconomical.
The companies of the Hartmann Group manage a bulker fleet of various sizes and classes. Our ships are double skinned and equipped with boxed holds. Depending on their area of operation, they are either gearless or geared, the latter deploying grabs for quick loading/discharging.
