The world merchant fleet comprises about 5,000 gas and chemical tankers of various sizes, transporting several hundred million tons of gas per year. Especially petrochemical gases, like ethylene, play an essential role in modern production techniques.
Due to their complex equipment, gas tankers are among the technically most advanced ships sailing the oceans today. Managing and maintaining them successfully calls for profound knowledge and a wealth of experience.
The Hartmann Group’s sophisticated fleet of fully-refrigerated, semi-refrigerated and pressurized gas tankers has served the international major oil and chemical industry for more than 40 years now. We handle different sizes and types of liquefied gas cargoes on high quality gas tankers, providing full technical management, as well as commercial management on the basis of spot and time charter and contracts of affreightment.
The Group has embarked on an ambitious project to construct a series of eco-friendly gas-carriers across three shipyards simultaneously. In total 20 gas-carriers are scheduled for delivery between 2023 and 2028.
The vessels range in size between 7,200 cubic meter and 40,000 cubic meter as LEG- or LPG-/Ammonia- carriers and are all equipped with dual-fuel engines either for LNG, LPG or Ethane. In addition, the vessels are designed and equipped with the most advanced technologies available today to ensure the highest efficiency and smallest environmental footprint possible.
The first deliveries took place in 2023 and 2024 already and the vessels have successfully joined the Hartmann fleet.
